Terms of use

Last updated: 28 August 2026

These terms cover this website. They are not a licence for the game. EmuWars is in development, nothing has been released, and there is no software here for you to install, buy or agree to. If the game reaches a store one day, it will carry its own terms at that point, and those will be a separate document from this one.

Accepting these terms

These terms set out how the site is offered. If some part of them does not suit you, stop reading it. If some part of them does not suit you, stop using the site. That is the whole of it. There is no account to close, no subscription to cancel and nothing to uninstall.

What this site is

This is a marketing site and a campaign codex for a game that is being built by one person. Everything on it is a work in progress, described as it stood on the day the page was written. Features, areas, art, names, mechanics and the plan itself can change without notice, and the whole project can be delayed, cut back, or abandoned without any announcement on this site. Nothing here is a promise that the game will ship, or that it will ship in the shape described. There is no release date. Nothing here is for sale.

The site has no accounts, no sign-ups and no user submissions. How visits are handled is set out on the privacy page.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is and as it happens to be available. No warranty is given that it will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted or free of errors, and pages can go stale between updates. The historical material is drawn from public sources and checked as far as one person reasonably can, errors are still possible, and none of it should be treated as scholarship, as advice, or as a citable authority on the events of 1932.

Limitation of liability

So far as the law allows, the developer is not liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising out of your use of this site or your reliance on anything published on it. You use the site at your own risk.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or under any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Intellectual property

The writing, page design and code on this site are the developer's, as are the characters and the campaign material. The illustrations were generated and then corrected by hand, which makes authorship a murkier question than it is for the text, so what follows about them is a request rather than a threat. You are welcome to link to any page, quote a short passage with attribution, and use screenshots in reviews, news coverage, videos and commentary, which is the ordinary way people write about a game and none of it needs asking first. Republishing the codex somewhere else, or using the art in your own project, needs written permission.

The 1932 Emu War belongs to nobody. It is a historical event, the records of it are public, and this site claims no ownership of the history. Where a page quotes a contemporary newspaper account or an officer's words, the quote is short, the speaker is identified wherever the record identifies them, and it is there for commentary and criticism.

The characters are fictional

EmuWars is a comedy built on a real event, and the people in it are invented. Where a character shares a rank or a job with someone real from 1932, the resemblance is a starting point, and every line, decision and absurdity after that is written for the game. Major Reginald Meredith-Smythe is a fiction. The Minister is a fiction. Nothing in the game or on this site is meant as a statement of fact about any real person, living or dead, and no disrespect is intended to the soldiers, the farmers, the officials or their descendants.

Changes to these terms

These terms can change as the project changes. The version on this page is the one that applies, and the date under the heading is when it last moved. Older versions are not kept here, and that date is the only notice there is.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. You and the developer submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia and of the courts that hear appeals from them.

Who runs this site

EmuWars is made by one person, working as an individual developer rather than through a company. Questions about these terms can go through the contact page.
